On Monday Jaroslaw Araszkiewicz and Ivan Djurdjevic revealed Lech's Table of Rules - a collection of ten timeless values which characterize Lech Poznan. The Table has been hung next to the entrance to the players' dressing room and it was signed by the board, former and current players and also people who have been close to the Club.
"Lech's Table of Rules answers the question: "who are we?" "What is Lech like?" explained Karol Klimczak, Lech's chairman. "It's a collection of timeless values which have been gathered in one place by many generations that have been close with the Club. They refer to the strength of character, ambition and faith that anything is possible."
Many people participated in the official ceremony, among them the former and current players, the Club's board, but also the representatives of Lech's fans: vice-chairman Piotr Rutkowski, chairman of WZPN (Greater Poland football association) Stefan Antkowiak, Walder Kryger, Piotr Reiss, a member of SKLP (Lech Poznan Fans Society) Marcin Kawka and two players, Karol Linetty and Krzysztof Kotorowski.
"The location of the board is significant. I am glad that the Table has been placed near the dressing room, and therefore not only will the players see it when they go to the pitch, but they will pass it every single day," highlighted coach Skorza. "We know where are today and where we have been a month ago, but the rules and values that are inscribed on the wall are timeless and unchangeable."
The Table is divided into two parts - on one of them the ten rules have been presented, answering the question "Why are we here?" The second part is a blank background on which the special participants of the ceremony have already left their signature. Soon, the rest of the first-team players will sign the board, but so will many people who have been committed to the Club for years.
"I am happy that such a characteristic Decalogue has been created," said Lukasz Tralka, Lech's captain. "It's important that everyone is aware of this Table's meaning. For sure we will follow those rules on the pitch."
In the future each newly contracted player of Lech Poznan will sign Lech's Table of Rules shortly before his official presentation.
