In the 34th round of T-Mobile Ekstraklasa, Lech Poznań lost in Gdańsk with Lechia 1:2.
Since the very begining both teams fought ambitiously, but just as the analytic Marcin Wróbel had predicted, neither Lech nor Lechia dominated the game. The hosts were the first ones to create a goal opportunity. In the 6th minute Makuszewski ended his individual run with a shot from an acute angle, but Kotorowski intervened successfully. Lech instantly replied with a counterattack but Pawłowski sent the ball over the crossbar. In the 23rd minute Lechia took the lead. Arajuuri didnt cross Dawidowiczs long ball which resulted with Sadajew being one-on-one with Kotorowski and a goal for the hosts. However, Lech quickly caught up. In the 26th minute the guests took over the ball near their opponents penalty area, Teodorczyk sent a great pass to Możdżeń who placed the ball in the net with a flat shot. In the 33rd minute Lech could have made it 2:1 but Henriquez sent the ball past the post. Lechia was the efficient one. In the 41st minute Możdżeń did not cross the pass coming from Deleu, Grzelczak took over the ball, sent a center to Sadajew and the latter scored with a header. Grzelczak had his own chance before the halftime but instead of shooting, he passed, and Lechia won as much as a corner kick.
The hosts were the ones to begin the second half well. In the 47th minute Dawidowicz sent yet another great pass, creating an opportunity for Grzelczak, but his shot went past the post. Lech had their first chance in the 59th minute when Bąk was forced to intervene after Pawłowskis shot from a distance. Lechia replied with Grzelczaks shot from 15 meteres that was saved by Kotorowski. In the 68th minute it should have been 2:2 Hamalainen passed to Lovrencsics from the right wing and the Hungarian player rushed into the penalty area but his shot was inaccurate. A minute later Teodorczyk turned to be the unlucky one when his shot hit both posts but did not cross the goal line. In the 82nd minute Sadajew was close to adding another goal to his account but he wasted a good chance by sending the ball over the crossbar. Lech did not manage to gather points, this way complicating its chances for a league championship.
