For the fourth time, Lech wins the Pro Junior System classification. It was the 8th edition of the initiative and the 8th podium for the team from Poznań. In the 2020/21 season, Lech won the classification thanks to four Academy players with Jakub Kamiński winning the highest number of points for his team.
Pro Junior System is an initiative created by the Polish Football Association which aims to promote youth players. Players born in the year 2000 or younger join the classification whenever they appear in 5 matches and spent a total of 270 minutes on the pitch. At Lech, four such players met the criteria. Jakub Kamiński got the most points (4032), and behind him were Michał Skóraś (2938) and Filip Marchwiński (1248). The last player who was included in the rank is Filip Szymczak who got a total of 610 points. Since every one of those players is Lech’s homegrown footballer, every minute they spent on the pitch added two points to Lech’s account. In addition, all of the mentioned players competed for the U21 Polish National Team last season which gave the club from Poznań additional points.
There were four other Lech Poznań youngsters who appeared on the Ekstraklasa pitches last season, however, they failed to meet the classification criteria. Hubert Sobol spent a total of 80 minutes on the pitch, Krystian Palacz 52 minutes, Antoni Kozubal 12 minutes, and Norbert Pacławski represented the senior team on the field for 4 minutes.
