During the November international break, Lech Poznań welcomed Warta at the Bułgarska Street training pitch for a friendly game. The hosts lost against their local rival 0:3.
Lech Poznań was missing a few players who were called up by their national teams, among them Miha Blažič, Nika Kvekveskiri, Filip Marchwiński, Filip Szymczak and Maksymilian Pingot. Those players who performed regularly in the past months, such as Bartosz Mrozek, Mikael Ishak, Antonio Milić, Joel Pereira, and Afonso Sousa, completed a training session prior to the friendly game. Meanwhile, Filip Dagerstål is still recovering from an injury, hence he had had an individual practice.
One of the positive highlights of the friendly game was Ali Gholizadeh spending 90 minutes on the pitch – it was the Iranian’s first full match since the injury and he impressed a few times with good passes and clever positioning on the pitch. Gholizadeh even came close to scoring a goal when he received a great pass from Elias Andersson, but his shot was blocked by Warta’s defender at the last moment. Dino Hotić, who is also slowly returning after an injury, spent an hour on the field and was even positioned experimentally as an offensive midfielder.
In the first half, the hosts indisputably dominated on the pitch and even had one good goal-scoring chance but Artur Sobiech’s shot hit the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Warta stayed on their half of the pitch, defending deeply, for most of the time. Surprisingly, shortly before halftime of the friendly, Lech conceded the first goal. Then, in the second half, Dario Vizinger fired a shot from outside the box which was impossible to save for Lech’s keeper. Two goals down, the hosts had chances to catch up to their rival but Kristoffer Velde lost a one-on-one clash with Warta’s goalkeeper and Aleksander Nadolski’s header was successfully stopped by Jędrzej Grobelny. Warta set the final score to 3:0 in the last few minutes of the game thanks to Wiktor Kamiński.
Numerous youth players appeared for Lech in the second half, including the defender Wojciech Mońka and the winger Kornel Lisman who are training with the senior squad.
