Lech to face Qarabağ
Qarabağ FK will be Lech’s rival in the first round of Champions League qualifications. The first match will take place at Bułgarska street, and the return leg will be played in Baku.
The nine-times champion of the Azerbaijan league and seven-times winners of the national cup was the team with the highest coefficient in the group 3 basket, from which Lech’s opponent was to be drawn.
Without a doubt, Lech have a difficult two-leg clash ahead of them. They will face a team with plenty of experience in the European arena – Qarabağ makes it into the group phase practically every season. Last season, the Azerbaijan side played in the Europa Conference League and was placed second in Group H, just behind FC Basel. In the knockout stage, Qarabağ was eliminated by Olympique Marseille (1:3, 0:3).
The first leg is scheduled for 5th/6th July, at Bułgarska street, whereas the second leg will be played a week later, in Baku.
