João Amaral joined Lech Poznan having passed medical tests successfully. The footballer signed a 4-year contract with the Polish club.
Amaral is a homegrown player of a Portuguese club called CD Candal. Before joining SL Benfica, Amaral competed for Vitoria Setubal. In the previous season, his team was ranked 14th in the league. In total, the footballer played in 40 matches, scored 9 goals and got 4 assists during the past season.
“Amaral feels comfortable alongside another striker but also plays well in a formation with three offensive footballers. He is quick, two-footed, and has the ability to score from outside the box. His position on the pitch changes frequently, waiting for the ball and looking for empty space,” explained Lech’s new scout, Andrzej Juskowiak. “In my opinion, Amaral has the potential and skills to be the fans’ favourite.”
The Portuguese striker is thrilled about the transfer. He emphasizes the eagerness to win trophies. “I am very happy to be here in Poznan. It wasn’t easy to reach an agreement with Benfica but I am glad that the negotiations had a happy ending. I am delighted to be here and I am concentrated on becoming the Champion. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and play the first match for Lech,” said the club’s newest transfer.
João Amaral is the fourth footballer to join Lech this summer. The club has already signed Tomasz Cywka, Karol Szymański, and Pedro Tiba.
