On Tuesday, Djordje Crnomarković has officially become Lech’s newest transfer. The Serbian player who used to compete for Radnicki Nis signed a 3-year contract with the club from Poznan with the possibility of extending the agreement for another year.
The 25-year-old was born in Belgrade; that’s where his football career began. Crnomarković started his adventure with the sport at FK Belgrade. In 2015, he debuted in front of a larger crowd after his great performance at Javor Ivanjica resulted in a transfer to Olimpija Ljubljana – a 6-times Slovenia champion. A year later, the footballer returned to Serbia where he competed for FK Cukaricki and for his old club, Javor Ivanjica. Later, he moved on to Radnicki Nis where he played until recently.
At the latter club, Crnomarković progressed and together with his teammates, he won vice-championship of Serbia. In the most recent season, the player appeared in 39 matches (32 league clashes, 4 cup games, and 3 Europa League matches) and got one assist. With Crnomarković at the centre of the defensive line, Radnicki Nis conceded only 23 goals throughout the season.
“We are thrilled to have Crnomarković join our squad. Last season, he played a crucial role in his team’s historic performance in the Serbian SuperLiga and that’s how he got our attention. Crnomarković fits our style of play perfectly and we are hoping that he will show what he’s capable of the was he has been doing over the past season,” explained Tomasz Rzasa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
The defender himself emphasized the excitement about the challenges that are awaiting him at his new club. “I am honoured to be able to join Lech Poznan because it’s the biggest club I have played for so far. Before moving here, I talked to a couple of friends - Todorovski and Sedlar - who also play in the Polish Ekstraklasa. Both spoke very highly of Lech and highlighted the uniqueness of the club’s fans,” said Lech’s newest signing.
Crnomarković is the fourth player to join the club during this transfer window. Lech has already signed contracts with Mickey van der Hart, Karlo Muhar, and Tomasz Dejewski. After finalizing all the formalities, Crnomarković travelled to Opalenica where the pre-season training camp is being held and joined his new teammates.
