Lech Poznań finished the 2022/2023 season of PKO BP Ekstraklasa second in the Pro Junior System. In the 7th edition of the program, three Lech homegrown players were classified – Filip Marchwiński, Filip Szymczak, and Maksymilian Pingot. The trio accumulated a total of 5964 points. It’s the 6th time that the team from Poznań finishes on the podium.
the 7th edition of the program which aims to promote youth players, footballers born in the year 2002 and later were classified. To be included in this season’s Pro Junior System rank, the players needed to appear in at least 5 games and spend a minimum of 270 minutes on the pitch. Three of Lech's homegrown players met those criteria – Filip Marchwiński (1438 minutes), Filip Szymczak (1157 minutes), and Maksymilian Pingot (387 minutes). The trio accumulated 2876, 2314, and 774 points respectively. Three other homegrown players also made appearances for Lech this season – that is, Michał Gurgul, Filip Wilak, and Jakub Antczak – but they didn’t meet the program’s criteria, hence they weren’t classified.
Only Zagłębie Lubin managed to accumulate more points than Lech. It means that out of the 7 editions of Pro Junior System, the team from Poznań was ranked 6 times in the top 2.
