Even though the marathon of matches has just begun, Urban consequently relies on the rotational system. This time Gajos, Formella and Douglas were given a rest, while Hamalainen was placed as no. 9. As it turned out in the 11th minute, the coach's decision was correct since the Finnish scored the first goal for Lech. Kaminski led the counterattack at first, then gave the ball to Linetty and even though the young midfielder was blocked, Hamalainen recovered the ball and placed it in the back of the net.
Pogon could have replied instantly, but Murawski shot shortly after Hamalainen's goal wasn't on target. Pawlowski had his opportunity too, but this player also failed to hit the ball accurately. Lechs offensive line Hamalainen - Linetty - Pawlowski was pure joy to watch because the trident caused many problems to Pogon's defense with its well-built, technical actions. Meanwhile, the hosts had their best goal-scoring opportunity in the 36th minute when Buric intervened at the very last moment. The goalkeeper made a mistake 5 minutes later, but Malecki failed to exploit the error for his own advantage.
The beginning of the second half was dominated by Pogon and Matras, Malecki and Fraczczak had their chances to score and bring some hope to the fans gathered at the stadium, however they failed to place the ball in the net. So did Hamalainen, and thus the score remained unchanged until 62nd minute when Matras fouled Linetty in the midfield and Lovrencsics' cross from the free kick reached Tralka and resulted in a second goal. It was the captain's first league goal in 6300 minutes!
Michniewicz kept searching for a way to reverse the score. He made substitutions, but fresh players failed to change the image of the game. Although Przybecki's header caused some problems to Lech's defense, Buric remained unbeaten that night. The win pushed Lech out of relegation zone, up the league table and a step closer to the top 8.
