On Monday, Lech Poznań players returned from holidays and resumed training. At 11 am sharp, the first team appeared on the training pitch at Bułgarska Street and kicked off preparations for the upcoming season.
Lech’s pre-season holidays lasted a month. On Monday morning, the A-team players reappeared at the stadium, ate breakfast together, and at 11:00 am the first training session took place. Those footballers who joined their national teams after the 2022/2023 campaign had ended – among them, Velde, Kvekveskiri, Karlström, and Marchwiński – are still resting. Meanwhile, Afonso Sousa is still competing at the U-21 Euro, representing his home country – Portugal.
Lech’s pre-season will last until July 22nd – that’s when PKO BP Ekstraklasa kicks off. In the first league match of the 2023/2024 season, Lech will face Piast Gliwice. In the meantime, John van den Brom’s squad has 3 friendly games scheduled. From July 3rd to July 8th, the first team will train at the Research & Development Centre in Wronki. The players from Poznań are also going to compete in Europa Conference League 2nd qualifications round, on July 27th and August 3rd.
