Lech drew the 5th league match of the season. The team from Poznan faced Zaglebie Lubin and the match ended with a 1:1 tie. Mario Situm scored his first goal for Lech.
It didn’t take Zaglebie long to build the first scoring chance. Czerwinski received a cross from the left flank and converted i tinto a header, however, it was easily saved by Putnocky. Lech responded with a shot from Majewski, but it was off target. This is how the first quarter looked like – both sides concentrated on the offensive and attempted to surprise the rival. Nonetheless, neither of the teams could find a way to place the ball in the back of the net.
Lech had a good scoring chance in the 17th minute. Situm spotted Kostevych who was entering the box, sent his a pass, while the latter left the ball for Majewski to shot. However, the midfielder’s attempt was blocked by one the defending players. 11 minutes later Swierczok decided for an individual run which he finished off with a shot that stopped on Lech’s crossbar.
Nevertheless, neither of the teams had a lot of scoring chances in the first half. Gytkjaer was very active in Zaglebie’s box and in the 36th minute he could have scored a goal. The forward recovered the ball and fired a shot from an acute angle – it was off target. In the 43rd minute Starzynski had a good chance too, but his attempt was equally inaccurate.
The second half didn’t differ much from the first part of the match. Both teams were determined to scored. Lech succeeded in the 53rd minute when Situm, with the help of Kostevych, placed the ball in the back of the net with a flat, precise shot. Shortly afterwards Makuszewski had an opportunity to add another goal, but his shot was saved by the keeper.
Zaglebie didn’t give up and they increased the tempo of their offensive actions. In the 67th minute Starzynski spotted Jagiella who was unmarked and sent him a good pass, but the latter failed to fire an accurate shot. Meanwhile, Kubicki’s attempt was blocked. On the other end of the pitch Majewski crossed the ball into the box where Vujadinovic was waiting, but the defender’s shot was easily stopped by the keeper. Lech wanted to neutralize the threat and tried to remain in possession of the ball for as long as possible, making it unable for Zaglebie to counterattack.
However, Zaglebie was dangerous whenever they received the ball. In the 77th minute Czerwinski raced down the right flank and spotted Pawlowski in the box, but the pass caught his teammate off guard. In the 81st minute Zaglebie finally succeeded and equalized. Vujadinovic made a mistake which helped Czerwinski pass Lech’s defensive line and place the ball in the back of the net.
