Lech's first league clash at home ended with a 0:2 loss to Zaglebie Lubin. Thus after the first two rounds of Lotto Ekstraklasa, the team from Poznan has got only a single point on the account.
Urban's team dominated since the opening minutes and using high pressing, the hosts forced their rival to make mistakes. In the 16th minute Lech had the first goal-scoring opportunity when Robak sent a direct pass to Bille, but despite having space, the Dane's shot wasn't on target. 5 minutes later the roles turned around and it was Robak that finished off Bille's pass with a shot that missed the post by centimeters.
As the time passed, the guests started to attack more intensively. In the 23rd minute Rakowski fired a shot from a distance, but the ball flew slightly above the crossbar. The next offensive action of Zaglebie ended with a goal. In the 33rd minute Papadulos converted Contra’s cross into a header and found the back of the net.
Zaglebie returned to defending and it could have cost them a goal before the break. Majewski played a key role in Lech's offensive action. After a series of passes, Kedziora received the ball and found himself directly facing the goalkeeper. Although the defender had to slide in to reach the ball, he did fire a shot, but it was successfully stopped by the goalkeeper.
Lech had nothing to lose and their determination resulted in a couple of good goal-scoring opportunities. One of them was finished off by Bille who was left unmarked in the penalty area and received a good ball from Kedziora, but the Dane's shot was a slip-up and therefore it wasn’t on target.
Shortly afterwards Majewski converted a free kick into a shot that Polacek found pretty problematic to save. Just when it seemed that Lech was a step away from an equalizer, the guests scored another goal. Starzynski was the one to execute a free kick and he did it so well, that the ball flew past Buric and into the net.
In the 66th minute Tralka came close to scoring. The captain received a cross from Makuszewski and converted it into a header, but the goalkeeper stopped the ball from falling into the net. Kedziora, Gajos and Makuszewski tried shooting at the goal too, but the defenders and the goalkeeper blocked the ball successfully in all cases.
Lech was tireless in its attempts to score, but they also had to watch out for Zaglebie's counterattacks. One of such offensive actions was stopped by Gumny and Buric at the last moment. Nevertheless, in the closing minutes Lech pushed Zaglebie into its own penalty area and tried to force their way into the goal. Zaglebie defended solidly and since they made no big errors, Lech did not get a good enough chance to even score a single goal.
