In the 14th league round Lech Poznan won at home with Wisla Plock 2:0. Dawid Kownacki scored the first goal in the opening minutes, while Robak added another one shortly before the final whistle. Wisla Plock finished the match in 10 men after Drozdowicz saw a red card.
Lech couldn’t have imagined a better beginning of the match, with a goal scored early in the 9th minute. But before the hosts placed the ball in the net, their rivals were awarded three corner kicks and created a couple of good goal-scoring opportunities. Furman’s crosses were problematic for Lech’s defensive line, but the hosts did not let roll into the net. Meanwhile, the offensive players from Poznan created a great scoring chance and converted it into a goal. Jevtic recovered the ball in the midfield and with the help of Majewski the ball reached Kownacki, who raced towards the right flank and with a precise shot beat the goalkeeper.
Lech did not settle on one goal and kept on going. In the 25th minute Kadar fired a shot from outside the box, but the goalkeeper did not make a mistake. 4 minutes later Jevtic finished off an offensive action built by himself and Kedziora, but his attempt wasn’t successful either. However, in the 35th minute the Swiss’ shot caused problems to the goalkeeper and Kownacki came close to scoring another goal after Kielpina failed to catch the ball.
After halftime Wisla Plock concetrated on the offensive. Nevertheless, the hosts remained in control of the play and kept on getting scoring chances. Kadar once again decided for a shot from outside the box, but this time the goalkeeper did not catch the ball. Kownacki was in the right place at the right time to fire another shot, but his attempt wasn’t on target.
An hour into the match Siergiej Kriwiec, a footballer well-known to the Poznan fans, appeared on the pitch. The midfielder was supposed to bring some fresh energy and creativity to the team from Plock. Shortly after he came on the field, Kriwiec had a scoring chance, but his header was inaccurate. Meanwhile, on the other end of the pitch Jevtic and Kedziora tried scoring another goal, but their attempts were either successfully stopped by the goalkeeper, or weren’t on target. Tetteh had a good goal-scoring opportunity as well. The midfielder decided for an individual run, dribbled past two players and raced into the penalty area, but was blocked by the defenders shortly before firing a shot.
In the 83rd minute Lech could have set the score. Majewski received a pass from Makuszewski, the latter sent the ball to Jevtic who had free space around him and the Swiss midfielder lobbed the goalkeeper, but the shot was too weak and at last Kielpina caught the ball. Makuszewski tried shooting from outside the box a couple of minutes later, but it wasn’t until the 88th minute that Lech scored the second goal. The hosts were awarded a penalty kick after Tralka was fouled in the box, and Robak converted the chance into a goal. However, it wasn’t the end of the game. In the injury time Drozdowicz was given a second yellow card for fouling Gajos and the guests had to finish the match in 10 men.
