In the recent league clash Lech drew with Wisla Cracow 1:1. Darko Jevtic scored a goal that put Lech on the lead until the 90th minute when Pawel Brozek equalized.
Lech gave Wisla the first warning in the opening minutes. Robal left Popovic behind, passed the ball to Formella, who found enough space to fire a shot. Luckily for the guests, the goalkeeper from Cracow was prepared for the attempt and stopped the ball in time. 4 minutes later Zaluska should have been talking the ball out of his own net, but Jevtic’s shot stopped on the crossbar.
Despite Lech’s evident determination to score a goal as soon as possible, as the minutes passed Wisla gradually gained control of the play. In the 21st minute the team from Cracow led a counterattack. Kadar was badly positioned, which Boguski noticed and sent a cross into the box. Luckily for Lech, Bednarek intervened at the last moment.
The match was relatively balanced, with both sides heavily relying on its most creative footballers. However, due to the decent defensive play, the playmakers struggled to pass the rival's defensive line and decided to fire shots from outside the box. Maczynski’s and Malecki’s attempts did not surprise Buric, and Gajos’ try flew a few centimeters next to the post.
After the break the fans gathered at INEA Stadium had to wait for more than 10 minutes to finally witness an exhilarating offensive action. Glowacki converted a free kick into an accurate pass, but the attempt was successfully saved by Putnocky. Shortly afterwards Boguski could have scored a goal for Wisla when he was left unmarked in the penalty area, but his shot from a close distance flew above the hosts’ crossbar.
Majewski, who came on the pitch an hour into the match, brought fresh energy to the team from Poznan. The 29 year-old was active and took over the role of a playmaker, but his teammates struggled to help him built good goal-scoring opportunities. However, in the 70th minute Lech finally found a way to pass Wisla’s defensive line. Jevtic and Formella recovered the ball and the Swiss midfielder fired a precise shot that left the goalkeeper helpless.
The conceded goal was a wake-up call for Wisla who immediately switched to offensive play. Malecki’s attempt didn’t cause problems to Putnocky. Meanwhile, Lech tried to remain in possession of the ball for as long as possible and to secure the score. However, Wisla counterattacked dangerously. One of such rapid offensive actions ended with Malecki racing into the penalty area and sending a pass along the goal line. Fortunately for Lech, Kadar was in the right place at the right time.
In the 86th minute Jevtic could have secured the win for Lech when the team from Poznan was awarded a free kick. However, the midfielder’s attempt wasn’t on target. The wasted chances took revenge on Lech and just before the referee announced the final time, Wisla scored an equalizer. Sadlok sent a cross into the box from the left flank and Pawel Brozek redirected the ball into the net, earning Wisla a single point.
