Lech Poznan lost in a sparing game with Kazakhstan Ordabasy Shymkent 1:2. Kasper Hamalainen got the only goal for the team from Poznan.
"We treat this match as a normal training session. We want to check our players' motility after the couple days of preparations. We did not examine our rival closely; we are only focusing on ourselves," said Tomasz Rzasa, the coach's assistant. Just as the training staff has said, the team was divided into two lineups, one per each half of the game.
The game was balanced since the beginning with neither team dominating on the pitch. Lech had its first chance in the 12th minute. The referee whistled a free kick following a foul on Kedziora. Douglas took the shot, but the ball was blocked by the defending players. 10 minutes later the Kazakhstan team took over the lead. Kotorowski lost control over the ball and the rivals had no difficulty placing it in the net. However, Ordabasy's happiness ended shortly afterwards when Hamalainen equalized, smartly using the goalkeeper's behavior. The first half ended with a tie.
Debutants appeared on the pitch in the second half Mateusz Lis and David Holman. The new lineup tried attacking since the beginning of the second part of the game, but once against the rivals were the ones to take over the lead. In the 51st minute Luis Henriquez fouled the opponent in the penalty area and the referee pointed at the white spot. Azat Nurgalijew converted the kick into a goal.
Lech attempted to equalize, however the players lacked decisiveness in the crucial moments. In the 67th minute Holman had his chance, but the defenders stopped him at the last moment. Lechs offensive was impressive despite the unchanging result. The Kazakhstan goalkeeper intervened successfully twice in the injury time and at last it was Ordabasy team that won the sparing game.
Lech will play the next friendly game on Tuesday against Turkish Eskisehirspor.
