Lech Poznan lost in the match against Jagiellonia Bialystok 0:2. It was a second loss in a row and Lech fell down the league rank onto the 9th position.
The guests have been causing problems to Lech's defense since the opening minutes. In the 9th minute Vassiljevs pass reached Cernych and the later came close to scoring, but fortunately for the hosts, Buric was there to stop the ball.
Lech attempted to create goal-scoring opportunities too, and 3 minutes later Kownacki's header flew above the crossbar. Pawlowski also had a chance to score, but his shot wasnt on target either. Jagiellonia was more efficient in its tries and in the 26th minute the team from Bialystok scored. Linetty attempted to kick the ball as far away from Lech's penalty area as possible after Vassiljev sent it there from a corner kick, but all the midfielder did was redirect it to Tarasovs, who then placed it in the net.
Lech's desire to equalize was clear, however the players from Poznan couldn't send the ball into the back of the net. Kownacki had a good goal-scoring opportunity, but he sent the ball next to the post. Meanwhile, Jagiellonia was eager to get a second goal and they did eventually, shortly before the halftime. Linetty fouled Burliga in the penalty area and the referee whistled a penalty kick that Tomasik converted into an actual goal.
Lech had nothing to lose. When the referee resumed the play after the break, Kamil Jozwiak, Lech's 17 year-old player, appeared on the pitch. His task was to bring some fresh energy into Lech's offensive actions and he succeeded, since the hosts were now more dangerous with their attacks and Jagiellonia had to retreat into defense. Lech fired many shots in the direction of the goal, however only a small percentage was on target. Meanwhile, Jagiellonia concentrated on the opportunities to counter attack, but they happened rarely.
Lech's players tried all the ways - from the flanks, in the center - but apart from Jozwiak and Pawlowski who were visibly active and determined to change the score, Jagiellonia's defenders had little problems with Lech's players. The guests' defense was solid enough to eliminate any real threat. Kownacki had a few opportunities to score, but the young forward failed to place the ball in the net. Thus, when the referee whistled for the last time, Jagiellonia's goalkeeper had a clean sheet and his team three more points on the account.
