Lech won with Cracovia 2:1 in the 26th league match this season. Although the guests scored first after Kapustka's shot, Jevtic replied immediately afterwards and Gajos set the final result in the 87th minute.
The opening minutes of the Sunday match were undoubtedly exhilarating. As early as in the 7th minute Cracovia scored the first goal. Cetnarski cross from the right corner of the penalty area reached Kapustka who sent the ball past Buric and into the net without problems. However, Cracovia's joy was cut short when two minutes Jevtic equalizer, having received a good long ball from Kadar.
Both sides kept on creating goal-scoring opportunity, but it was Cracovia's goalkeeper that was busier in the first half. For instance, Sandomierski was forced to intervene when Lovrencsics, thanks to a good pass from Kadar, got a chance to shoot. When Jevtic found himself in a similar situation he fired a shot above the crossbar and so did Kownacki, who, shortly before halftime, received a great ball from Lovrencsics and had only Sandomierski left to beat.
The match wasn't any less interesting in the second half. Buric was one who had to intervene numerous time in the second part of the game. The goalkeeper stood out with his great save of Jendrisk's shot which would otherwise fall into the back of the net. On the other side of the pitch Kownacki caused problems to the defenders from Cracow. The young forward had a couple of chances to score, but most of his shots were blocked by the defenders.
Lovrencsics was one of the most active players on the pitch and as a result he had a few good opportunities to score the first goal since April 2015. During one the offensive actions he received a pass from Sisi and converted it into a shot, but he failed to surprise the goalkeeper. When Lovrencsics tried passing instead of shooting, the defenders figured out his plans and stopped the attack.
Cracovia had its goal-scoring opportunities too. For some time the team from Cracow clearly dominated the play. Nonetheless, the guests failed to find a way to pass Lech's defense. The hosts skillfully crowded the midfield and made it hard for Cracovia to build positional attacks. Whenever the guests managed to send a ball into their rival's penalty area, the defenders did not have much problems eliminating the threat.
Meanwhile, Lech was determined to score the winning goal. The captain of the team from Poznan had a great chance to do that in the 85th minute when he received a ball from Lovrencsics, but his header was stopped by the goalkeeper. 2 minutes later Sandomierski was left helpless and had to watch the ball fall into the net. Lovrencsics's cross from the right flank was accurate and precise and Gajos redirected the ball into the goal with a strong shot that set the final result to 2:1.
