In the last match of 2019, Lech Poznan drew with Arka Gdynia 1:1. Lubomir Šatka got his first goal for the team from Poznan in the home league clash.
Lech dominated the game from the very start and the duet Jozwiak and Jevtic played a key role in the offensive line. However, Steinbors performed well that afternoon and all shots on target were easily stopped by the keeper. The hosts got an extra advantage in the 24th minute when Zbozien fouled Puchacz in the crucial phase of a counterattack and received a red card. Despite playing in 10 men, Arka didn’t make it any easier for their opponent to score. Lech lacked precision and the majority of their attempts were off target. Gytkjaer came close to scoring towards the end of the first half but his flat shot was stopped by Arka’s goalkeeper. Just when it seemed that the team from Poznan was minutes away from finding the back of the net, Arka scored. Mlynki received a great long ball and redirected it into the box where Serrarens was waiting. Van der Hart was helpless as the forward the ball into the net.
In the second half, Lech seemed even more determined to win the match and Jozwiak, Jevtic, and Puchacz caused real problems to Arka’s defensive line. However, once again, the lack of precision made it hard for the players from Poznan to equalize, much less win the game. Steinbors and his teammates performed very well in the defense which made the task of scoring seem impossible for Lech. Finally, in the 74th minute, Satka converted a corner kick into a goal – his first for the team from Poznan. Now that a win became more realistic, Lech intensified their offensive attempts. Tomczyk had a perfect chance to change the score to 2:1 in the added time but he mishit the ball, therefore wasting a crucial opportunity. The match ended with a 1:1 draw, forcing the two teams to share points.
