Lech Poznan is the current leader of the Pro Junior System, with 2308 points on its account. After 13 rounds of Lotto Ekstraklasa, only 5 clubs have been classified in the project.
In the season 2016/17 Polish Football Association launched a project called Pro Junior System. It is meant to reward the football clubs that promote youth players. For a youngster to be classified in the project, he needs to spend at least 270 minutes on the pitch during 5 league matches.
Until the 9th round, only Robert Gumny has been recognised by Pro Junior System. Shortly afterwards, Jan Bednarek joined his teammate in the ranking and the two young rising stars earned Lech Poznan a significant number of points in the classification. Dawid Kownacki will probably join the duo as well, since he already has 81 league minutes on his account. Another of Lech’s home-grown footballers, Kamil Jozwiak, spent 9 minutes on the field (two matches so far).
Slask Wroclaw is currently ranked 2nd in Pro Junior System with 876 points and Cracovia is occupying the third rank with 576 points. Jagiellonia has earned only 487 points so far, while Lechia, the last classified club, has 422 points on its account.
