Tymoteusz Klupś will finish the season competing for Piast Gliwice. The winger joined the current Polish Champions on a 6-month loan.
This season, the 19-year-old has appeared on the Ekstraklasa pitches 3 times and gathered 10 caps for the reserves, hence the coaching staff and club management decided to loan the player to another club where he will get more minutes and gain experience.
“The autumn round hasn’t been an overly successful one for Klupś since as soon as he started competing for the senior team, he suffered an injury. The winger was very unlucky and even had his Achilles sinew inflamed which made it hard for him to appear on the pitch regularly and get into the rhythm. We want Klupś to play frequently because that will help minimise or even eliminate the risk of mini injuries which have been haunting him,” said Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
Therefore, the club made the decision to loan the winger to another club. Klupś will spend the upcoming 6 months at Piast Gliwice. He is the second homegrown player to join the current Polish Champions – Paweł Tomczyk spent 6 months at Piast Gliwice last year.
“Numerous clubs were interested but we decided to go with Piast since we believe it’s the perfect place for Klupś to continue developing. We are sure that at Piast he will be given the opportunity to improve his skillset and progress,” explained Rząsa.
Klupś made his debut for the senior team in February 2018 against Pogoń Szczecin. So far, he appeared in 31 top-flight matches and scored one goal in the clash with Zagłębie Sosnowiec which Lech won 6:0.
