Tomasz Kędziora will no longer represent Lech Poznań. The defender reached an agreement with Dynamo Kyiv and signed a 4-year contract with the Ukrainian club.
The 23-year-old is a homegrown player of UKP Zielona Góra. He joined Lech’s Academy in 2010. 2 years later, in July, he debuted in the first team and came on the pitch in the injury time as a substitute for Bartosz Ślusarski. That same season he played in 9 matches. He debuted in the league against Jagiellonia Białystok in October 2012.
“Tomek is an experienced player despite his young age. He captained Lech and the Polish U21 side. We are happy that another homegrown player of ours joins a top European club. Yet again we prove that we know how to manage young footballer in order for them to later join big, ambitious clubs,” explained Piotr Rutkowski, Lech’s vice-chairman.
Dynamo Kyiv is the current vice-champion of Ukraine. The club from the capital is the most titled team in the country. The side won the national championship 15 times. It’s also the 9th time that Dynamo is ranked 2nd in the league. In August the Ukrainian side will compete in the qualifications to Champions League. In the past Łukasz Teodorczyk played for Dynamo and, similarly to Kędziora, he joined the team directly from Lech. In winter Tamas Kadar decided to move to Kyiv too.
Kędziora played in 151 matches for Lech, scored 9 goals and assisted his teammates 12 times. He won the Championship in 2015, as well as two Polish Super Cups. His good performance in the club competition resulted in a number of caps in the youth national teams. The defender played 15 matches for U21s and during this year’s Euro U21 he captained the side.
