Lech Poznań terminated the contract with Aron Johannsson, valid until December 31st 2021, by mutual agreement.
The American forward is forced to stay off the pitch until the end of the season, having suffered a serious shoulder injury. In Lech B-team’s recent league match against Wisła Puławy (4:1), Johannsson scored two goals but – in the same game – the forward also suffered an unfortunate fall which resulted in a shoulder injury. Therefore, Johannsson won’t appear on the pitch for a long time. Last week, the American flew to Iceland where he will undergo rehabilitation and today, the forward and Lech Poznań reached an agreement to terminate the contract.
Johannsson joined Lech in the last winter transfer window. In the summer, he appeared in 10 matches for the first team – 9 league clashes and 1 Fortuna Polish Cup game. He found the back of the net twice (interestingly, within 5 days’ time) – against Śląsk Wrocław (1:0) and Warta Poznań (2:1). This season, the forward hasn’t played for the senior squad.
Aron, thank you for your time at Lech! We wish you all the best!
