It has been confirmed that Darko Jevtic won't play in the crucial play-off matches against Videoton FC. The midfielder underwent medical test which proved that the injury he suffered from on Saturday is serious.
Jevtic was forced to leave the pitch in the 25th minute. The Swiss player was unable to continue playing after being brutally fouled by Piotr Malarczyk. The referee saw the whole situation and yet Malarczyk did not even receive a yellow card. Meanwhile, the consequences could have been tragic. "If Darko did not attempt to protect his leg by moving it away, he would have fibula broken and that would result in minimum 6 months of absence," explained dr Krzysztof Pawlaczyk, Lech's medic.
Jevtic won't be absent for that long, but nonetheless it will take some time for him to return to training sessions. The player has a massive hematoma and partially broken ligaments. For the upcoming three weeks, Darko will have his ankle disabled. Only when the swelling lets go will the doctor proceed to the next step of recovery. In the best case scenario, the midfielder will return to training session after a month, when the players come back from National Team groupings.
