Lech Poznan drew 2:2 with Jagiellonia Bialystok in the 15th league match of the season.
Jagiellonia kicked off the game well and quickly created a decent scoring chance that did not result in a goal only thanks to Buric’s intervention. The goalkeeper saved Swiderski’s attempt, and Poletanovic’s shot was off target. The Bosnian keeper faced Swiderski one-on-one shortly afterwards and once more, he won the clash. For the next few minutes, most of the play revolved around midfield until Jagiellonia finally took control of the ball and scored the first goal. Mamrot’s footballers had a numerical advantage as they entered Lech’s box and Frankowski placed the ball in the back of the net with a precise, strong shot.
5 minutes later, Lech got an equalizer. Jevtic attempted to cross the ball into the box twice, and his second attempt was redirected by Gytkjaer and turned into a goal by Rogne. Lech dominated the next couple of minutes and quickly changed the score to 1:2. Jevtic received a pass near Jagiellonia’s penalty area and sent the ball to Wasilewski who beat the keeper with a clever shot.
Soon after, Gytkjaer had a great opportunity to score the third goal for Lech after he received a good long ball from Tiba, but the Dane lost the one-on-one clash with Jagiellonia’s keeper. In the next offensive attack, Jozwiak raced into the box where Gytkjaer was already waiting, but this time the final pass was intercepted by Jaga’s defensive line. Rogne’s header from a couple of minutes later wasn’t successful either. Jagiellonia dominated the last few minutes of the first half, but the score didn’t change.
The second part of the match started with a strong, accurate shot from Wasielewski, but the goalkeeper had no problems saving the attempt. Shortly afterwards, Jagiellonia equalized thanks to Swiderski who entered the box at full speed and left Buric helpless as he put the ball in the back of Lech’s net. The hosts could have added another goal to their account a moment later when Goutas lost the ball, but they failed to take advantage of this opportunity.
Lech responded with Gumny’s impressive header which was stopped by Kelemen who intervened equally impressively. A couple of minutes later, the team from Poznan scored again but this time the goal was ruled incorrect due to Tralka’s offside. Meanwhile, Jozwiak’s attempt from outside the box was slightly off target. Jagiellonia had their goal-scoring chances too, but their shots were either blocked or imprecise.
The last couple of minutes of the game were intense with both sides desperately trying to score a winner, however, since neither of them succeeded, the match ended with a 2:2 draw.
