Jagiellonia Białystok – Lech Poznań 1:2 

The stadium in Białystok is far from Lech’s favorite. Regardless of who the coach was and what form Lech’s players were in at that moment, they never found a way to beat Jagiellonia.

Finally, last weekend, Jagiellonia’s fortress was conquered by the squad from Poznań. Although the opening minutes didn’t forecast a favorable score for the guests – their performance was average, and it was Jagiellonia that scored the first goal. Lech’s homegrown player Mateusz Skrzypczak, who represents the team from Białystok, found the back of the net. Fortunately for John van den Brom and his players, Lech responded quickly with a precise header from Mikael Ishak.

In the second half, Lech’d domination was clear, yet the guests struggled to convert their possession of the ball into a second goal. Finally, in injury time, Filip Szymczak who came in from the bench received a great pass from his captain and placed the ball in the back of the net. It was the homegrown player’s second “last-minute” winner scored in the past two years. The 20-year-old also played a crucial role in Lech’s recent win against Korona Kielce (3:2).

Now the squad will have a month’s long break from matches because of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Van den Brom’s squad will return to training on December 12^th and continue to practice until Christmas. Upon returning from the holiday break, the team will fly to Dubai for the winter training camp.
