Lech's vice-chairman spoke about the results of the Champions League draw for the III qualifying round.
The draw
Most of all, I want to emphasize that there is still the second leg against FK Sarajevo to be played. It won't be an easy match because the Bosnians will come to Poznan highly motivated and they will leave a lot of strength on the pitch. Now we focus solely on Pogon Szczecin and the Wednesday game with the team from Sarajevo. Only after that can we think about the match with FC Basel.
We have drawn out the most difficult rival in this round. I know that it won't be easy, but it's a two-game clash, and therefore we have big chances to advance. In terms of logistics it will be one of the easiest trips and undoubtedly in the organizational aspect it will be easier for us to prepare for the match in Basel.
FC Basel is a tough opponent which has many good players in its squad and I know that the two games will be very demanding for our players. It cannot be forgotten that the Swiss players are very experienced in playing on the international arena because they do it each year. Last year they advanced from the group stage of Champions League, but that does not mean that we have already lost.
I count on our fans' support. I know that in Poznan the atmosphere is great and that is what we want to show to the Swiss.
Co-operation with FC Basel
The co-operation with FC Basel was based on the loan, and later on the purchase, of Darko Jevtic. Every now and then we visit the Swiss and see how they work. It's a very interesting club which knows how to promote world class players.
We want to take a similar path. FC Basel resembles our club, because both have a comparable plan of development.
