Efficient Ishak

Lech’s captain appeared on the pitch for the first time this year on April 1^st, when he came in from the bench in the clash with Stal Mielec (0:0). In each of the following three matches – against Pogoń Szczecin (1:0), Puszcza Niepołomice (1:2), and ŁKS Łódź (3:2) – the 31-year-old striker scored a goal. His scoring streak ended in the clash with Cracovia which finished in a goalless draw. Ishak resumed his successful run in the recent league game when Lech faced Ruch Chorzów (1:2) – the Swede beat Dante Stipica from a penalty kick. So far this season, Ishak found the back of the net 10 times and assisted his teammates three times - that puts him in the 10^th position in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa goal contribution ranking. However, when we consider the time Ishak spent on the pitch, he has contributed to a goal every 118 minutes – which is the best score in the league.

The current leaders of the goal contribution ranking are Erik Exposito and Kamil Grosicki who have spent respectively 2621 and 2670 minutes on the pitch. That means they got a goal or an assist every 119 and 121 minutes. Ilja Szkurin has also contributed to his team’s goals as often as Śląsk Wrocław’s captain. However, neither of them has been as effective as Mikael Ishak. Kacper Chodyna, Nene, Jesus Imaz, Benjamin Kallman, Bartłomiej Wdowik and Kristoffer Velde all have more goals and assists than the Swedish striker, however, all of them needed over 2300 minutes to achieve such stats.
