It's official - David Holman joined Lech on a year-long loan from Ferencvaros Budapest. Following medical test taken a week ago, the player flew to Turkey and having been given the approval of the Hungarian club, he started training with Lech Poznan. Holman will be wearing number 20.
A new part of the offensive
The 22 year-old David Holman joined Lech on a year-long loan from Ferencvaros with a pre-emption. The Hungarian player is supposed to complete the squad for the first 6 months, but nonetheless the training staff is happy to have Holman at their disposal.
"I am really glad he joined us. He's an offensive player and he will add some rivalry to the squad, which is what we need. He's got great technical skills, he's young and hunger for success," said Maciej Skorza.
The homegrown player of Vac FC 1899 describes himself as an offensive footballer too. "I play both on the position of a forward, as well as the so called "no. 10". But the most important thing is to give it all on the pitch and help the team win, which is what I try to do in each game," said the new player of Kolejorz.
A big step
The move to Poznan is supposed to be a new phase in Holman's life. "Definitely it's the biggest step I have taken in my career so far. I think that Lech is the best choice for me right now. It's a big club thanks to which I can go really far. Moreover, it's a big challenge for me and I hope I will do well," said Holman.
Holman did not take part in the pre-season summer period as well as in a big part of the current plays because of pneumothorax. In autumn the player took part only in the League Cup games and scored twice. "I hope that the worst days are behind me and that now I will be able to focus only on football. I want to be as good as I only can and I believe that playing for Lech will help me grow as a footballer," said the young player.
Poland? What do you want to know?
The young Hungarian admitted that he's been observing Poland for some time now. Picking Lech was not an accident. "When playing for Lech all you can do is become a better player. One of my idols is Robert Lewandowski who used to play for Lech and now he's a world class footballer. It's my dream to become such a player and the Polish league will help me," said Holman.
Lech and Ferencvaros settled an agreement on Friday. "It's true that the negotiations took longer than we thought they would," said Lech's vice-chairman, Piotr Rutkowski. "The most important thing is that Holman was allowed to train with his new teammates in the meantime. Now hes officially a part of our team."
