Lech’s coach Maciej Skorża and the sporting director Tomasz Rząsa have made the decision to alter the coaching staff. As a result, coaches Janusz Góra and Andrzej Kasprzak will no longer work for the club from Poznań, whereas Dariusz Dudka will have a new set of responsibilities. The names of coaches who are going to reinforce the coaching staff will be announced soon.
Shortly after his appointment back in April, Maciej Skorża highlighted that until the end of the 2020/2021 season, he is going to work with the current coaching staff. His plan was to wait until after the last match of the campaign and then make a final decision as to any potential changes in the staff. It's been recently announced that Lech’s coach decided to appoint a new assistant coach and motor development coach.
Janusz Góra, who was appointed Dariusz Żuraw’s assistant coach a year ago, and then played a few matches alongside Maciej Skorża, will no longer work for the club from Poznań.
In addition, Andrzej Kasprzak, who was responsible for the motor development of the players, has also been let go. The latter spent much more time in Poznań – ever since 2009, he had been involved with Lech. During his time in Poznań, Kasprzak celebrated two Polish Championship titles – in 2010 and 2015 – and in 2017, he helped prepare the U21 Polish National Team for the European Championship. Now he is no longer going to work on the fitness of Lech’s senior squad as Maciej Skorża and Tomasz Rząsa decided that changes were much needed. The club would like to thank both coaches for their commitment and hard work, and wish them all the best in their careers.
It has also been decided that Dariusz Dudka will now be working individually with the Academy players who are coming into the first team. The 37-year-old is going to focus on the development of youngsters. The remaining members of the coaching staff – assistant Rafał Janas, goalkeeper coach Michał Chamera, fitness coach Karol Kikut and analyst Hubert Barański – will continue working with the senior team. They have all received an offer to extend their contracts.
Coach Skorża and sporting director Tomasz Rząsa are currently in the middle of negotiations with potential new coaches that will reinforce the staff. The names of the new appointments will be revealed soon.
