Lech is not a bit closer to the final of the Polish Cup after the first leg of the semifinals. In the away game, the team from Poznan lost with Blekitni Stargard Szczecinski 1:3.
Coach Maciej Skorza sent his best eleven to fight for a place in the final. Lech's training staff was forced to make changes in the squad comparing to the match with Legia. The team from Poznan was the favorite and they proved it in the 9th minute when Zaur Sadajew easily placed the ball in the net, having received a great pass from Paulus Arajuuri. Lech took over the lead, but it did not make the game any less difficult. Wisniewski who was racing in the direction of Lech's goal was fouled by Kaminski and the defender was shown a yellow card, despite the stands' loud protests and demand of a red card. Neither the free kick that was executed by Blekitni following the foul, nor the one that the players won a few minutes later, was successful. Lech tried surprising its opponents with Kadar's shot from a distance, but the goalkeeper intervened successfully. Kownacki could have changed the result to 2:0 30 minutes into the match, however the young player did not kick the ball well and Zaur Sadajew did not manage to finish the action himself.
When the teams changed the sides, the hosts soon took control of the game. 10 minutes into the second half Blekitni equalized after a corner kick. The local fans rejoiced while their players kept on attacking. Dawid Kownacki could have put his team closer to the final, but in the 60th minute his shot was blocked by the goalkeeper.
