For the first time since joining Lech Poznań, Miha Blažič received a call-up from the Slovenian national team. The centre-back will have a chance to compete in the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Northern Ireland and San Marino.
The 30-year-old defender debuted in the Slovenian national team back in 2018. So far, he has 25 caps in his account. The last time that Blažič represented his home country was at the beginning of Euro 2024 qualifications. In March, the centre-back made a brief appearance in the clash with Kazakhstan (2:1), and then in the following games, against San Marino (2:0), Finland (0:2), and Denmark (1:1), he sat on the bench.
The Slovenian squad is to report for the international break on September 3rd. The national team has two matches scheduled for the upcoming weeks – on September 7th, they will face Northern Ireland at home, and then 3 days later they will travel to San Marino.
