Arka Gdynia - Lech Poznań 0:0

After the most recent loss against Slask Wroclaw, Lech’s players wanted to make it up to their fans. They were facing Arka Gdynia which was ranked last in the league table. Hence, it was no surprise that the team from Poznan dominated the game since the opening minutes. In the 4^th minute, Jevtic sent a well-timed and precise long ball to Jozwiak but the latter lost a one-on-one clash with Steinbors. Lech kept on attacking. 5 minutes later, Tiba’s shot from outside the box stopped on the post. There was no doubt that the squad from Poznan was in control of the match; they dominated in the midfield and created numerous scoring chances, including Tiba’s header which flew only a couple of centimeters above the crossbar. Meanwhile, Arka was focused on the defense and their tactical plan was clearly working - the hosts managed to successfully stop Lech from scoring.

The second half was no different – Lech kept on pressing, whilst Arka guarded their goal. Occasionally, the hosts would fire a shot from outside the box but otherwise than that, van der Hart didn’t have a lot to do. In the 70^th minute, the referee awarded Arka with a penalty kick – a decision that he took back after using VAR and instead Lech was given a free kick. A moment later, Jevtic tried surprising Steinbors with a shot from a distance, but Arka’s keeper was performing incredibly and once again, he managed to stop the ball from falling into the net. In the closing minutes of the match, Arka had a perfect chance to score when Anotnik found himself one-on-one with van der Hart, however, Crnomarković returned in time and recovered the ball before it was too late. Since neither of the teams managed to score, the two sides were forced to share league points.
