Videoton FC recent season
Videoton FC won the championship for the second time in its history. The team from Székesfehérvár dominated the Hungarian league last season losing only three times and conceding as little as 14 goals in total. Moreover, Vidi was unparalleled when it comes to the goals score, too. The club scored 64 goals which gave them the title of the Hungarian Champion and Nemanja Nikolic the title of the best goal scorer.
Videoton FC did well in the national cup, too, having reached the final. However, Ferencvaros gave no chance to its opponent and beat them 4:0 at the Groupama Arena in Budapest.
Videoton's squad
The Hungarian club made multiple changes in its squad during the summer transfer window. In total as many as 12 players left the Hungarian Champion, while the same number joined the team. The biggest loss for the club from Székesfehérvár is Nemanja Nikolic's transfer to Legia Warsaw. Moreover, the team's first-choice goalkeeper Juan Calatayuda left Hungary for India.
Gergely Rudolf, who used to represent clubs like AS Nancy, FC Genoa and Panathinaikos, seems to be one of the most interesting newly signed players.
Vidi current season
Videoton FC did not begin season 2015/2016 too well. The Hungarian Champion lost the national Supercup after Ferencvaros won 3:0. One of the Polish defenders, Michal Nalepa, spent 38 minutes on the pitch representing the team from the capital before he was sent off for two yellow cards.
The club from Székesfehérvár doesn't seem to be doing any better in the league either. After 5 rounds of OTP Bank Liga Videoton is placed 10th with only 3 points on their account.
The Hungarian Champion started off from the II round of Champions League qualifications where they faced The New Saints. Not until the extra time did the team from Székesfehérvár manage to advance. However, BATE Borisov was an obstacle that the Hungarian club failed to overcome, and therefore they fell to the Europa League play-offs.
