Sarajevo's recent season
In the last season FK Sarajevo won the championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time in 8 years and that long awaited triumph let the team from the capital compete in Champions League qualifications. The year before, Uscuplic's players were placed third in the league, and therefore they took part in Europa League qualifications. The Bosnians went as far as IV qualifying round, having eliminated Norwegian FK Haugesund and Greek Atromitos F.C. However, FK Sarajevo failed to beat Borussia Moenchengladbach (2:10).
Pre-season
During the pre-season FK Sarajevo played 6 control matches. In every single one of them the squad differed slightly as the coach wanted to test as many players as possible before having to face Lech Poznan. The team from Bosnia won three of those matches, while in the rest of them they were beaten by their rival. During the pre-season FK Sarajevo scored and lost 10 goals. Uscuplic doesn't make many changes in the offensive of its team, however the defense line has been rebuilt before it were to face Lech Poznan. Tomislav Barbaric and Milan Stepanov were the pair of defenders that appeared in most of the control matches, while Senedin Ostrakovic was the first-choice defender.

Sarajevo's squad
The team from Sarajevo called up 23 players for the Champions League qualifications. In the first game between Sarajevo and Lech Poznan the hosts' captain, Ivan Tatomirovic did not appear due to yellow cards. Harmony Ikande, Sarajevo's forward, wasn't yet registered to the European competition. The Nigerian footballer has joined the Bosnian team only recently, having played for Hapoel Tel-Aviv before.
In the first leg of the round one of the players that have performed well was Bojan Puzigaca who is known to the Polish fans. On Wednesday Uscuplic will also count on Sarajevos best goal scorer, Krste Velkoski.
