A lot at stake

"The two coaches that are about to face each other both want their teams to play offensive football. The leaders have played similar, attack-focused football during their careers as players. Perhaps they will convince their footballers that this is the way to play in the upcoming match," said Krzysztof Ratajczak, the journalist from Radio Merkury.

Both, Lech and Lechia, are in at a tough spot ahead of the Thursday match. The two sides lost their recent league matches and the lack of points put them further away from the qualifications to the European cups. "There is a lot at stake for both clubs. The two teams often present unique, interesting football, unlike the always-organized Piast Gliwice, thus I expect the Thursday clash to be an exhilarating show. A loss, for either of the sides, means a "goodbye" with the European cups. Although Lech still has a chance if the team from Poznan wins the Polish Cup final, but it is a risky way out," explained the journalist.

Ratajczak believes that the upcoming Polish Cup final won't influence Lech's preparations ahead of the league game. "I do not expect any rotations in the squad, except for the forced ones. What's important is to keep the players in the match rhythm. I also believe that the league clash is a good test ahead of the final. After the recent loss of the points, Lech has low morals and there is no better way to improve the mood than to win an important match in the league," emphasized Ratajczak.

Moreover, the journalist said that the absence of Lukasz Tralka and Tamas Kadar in the game with Lechia is going to have a good impact on Lech. "The two players could use some rest. Obviously, both are very experienced and bring a lot of value to the team, but they will soon be back on the pitch and what's important, they are at the coach's disposal for the final in Warsaw. The inability to play in the league game is not going to influence them negatively, since they are no youngsters and their form is stable," highlighted the journalist from Radio Merkury.
