Lech Poznań drew 1:1 in a friendly game with Banik Ostrava. Adriel Ba Loua scored the goal for Lech in the first half, whereas Matej Sin changed the score shortly before the end of the match.
In the second pre-season friendly, Lech once again faced a Czech team. John van den Brom’s squad played against Banik Ostrava whom, interestingly, they also faced a year ago in Turkiye. Back then, the blue-and-white team triumphed 4:2 following goals from Ramirez, Ba Loua, Marchwiński, and Kvekveskiri.
In the first half, Lech Poznań fully dominated on the pitch, leaving their opponent helpless. Bartosz Mrozek had little to do in the first part of the game – he only intervened once, unlike the goalkeeper on the other end of the field. Adriel Ba Loua and Filip Wilak caused problems for Banik on the flanks and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities, however, most of their attempts were off target. The two wingers were also the authors of Lech’s two best chances to score in the first half. First, the young pole spotted the 26-year-old running into the box, and despite being marked by a defender, Ba Loua managed to fire a shot at the goal. That attempt wasn’t successful, but the following one was. A few minutes later, the winger from the Ivory Coast changed the score to 1:0 with a precise shot.
The second half wasn’t as exhilarating as the first 45 minutes. Banik gradually started having more to say on the pitch, but aside from a few shots from outside the box, they didn’t test Mrozek’s skills. Similarly to Lech’s previous friendly, John van den Brom changed the line-up in the second half, giving a chance to the youngsters. Lech had two more goal-scoring opportunities in the second part, but Sammy Dudka’s pass was slightly imprecise, and Maksym Pietrzak’s shot was blocked. Just when it seemed that Lech would win the friendly, Banik equalized shortly before the final whistle thanks to Matej Sin who beat Mrozek in a one-on-one situation.
