Collecting 3 points in the Sunday clash with Wisla Plock was incredibly important for Lech’s players. The win not only ended the unfortunate series of 5 matches without a win, but also gave hope ahead of the upcoming games. “The fans have played a key role,” explained Lech’s footballers.
Before the Sunday match, the team and the training Staff emphasized the importance of that one win. Of course, they not only talked about Lech’s position in the league, but also about the team’s morale. “We won’t deny that we’ve been nervous recently. However, that is normal considering a series of matches without a win,” explained Darko Jevtic, Lech’s midfielder.
Thanks to the Sunday win, the players can now concentrate on preparation for the upcoming game instead of the poor run. “Now we feel more relaxed. Therefore, it shows how important that win was for us, the club, and our fans who’ve been supporting us all along,” said Emir Dilaver.
The Bosnian defender explained that the fans’ support in the game against Wisla was of immense importance. “I was to thank the fans for making it to the stadium and supporting us. It was extremely cold and yet they came to help us. Whenever you come out of the tunnel and see all the success-thirsty supporters around you, you are even more mobilized,” added the player.
On Sunday nearly 14 thousand fans made it to INEA Stadium. “I understand why the stadium wasn’t full. Our recent results were poor. In addition, the cold was encouraging, therefore you must admire those that came to watch us play,” explained Christian Gytkjaer, Lech’s forward. “We felt the support throughout the whole match. Our fans are incredible, probably the best ones I have ever performed in front of,” added the striker.
