Ali with a win against Kyrgyzstan
Lech’s midfielder Ali Gholizadeh appeared in Iran’s World Cup qualifying match. Gholizadeh and his teammates won 3:2 against Kyrgyzstan and are currently ranked first in Group A.
Iran is amid the qualifications for the World Cup 2026, which will take place in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. Gholizadeh and his teammates are on the right track to advance to the tournament. During the November international break, they made crucial steps towards securing a spot at the next World Cup. First, they beat North Korea 3:2 and then defeated Kyrgyzstan 3:2. After 6 qualifying matches, Iran is ranked first in Group A with three points more than Uzbekistan (second) and 9 more than the United Arab Emirates (third).
Ali Gholizadeh was a part of the starting line-up for the match held in Bishkek. He spent 63 minutes on the pitch. It was the midfielder’s 38th appearance for his national team. So far, he has scored 6 goals and assisted his teammates 5 times.
