On Saturday Lech proved that the loss against Motor Lublin was just a hiccup and defeated Radom Radomiak 2:1. Joel Pereira’s and Mikael Ishak’s goals gave the club from Poznań three points.
The clash with Radomiak was preceded by a successful, top-of-the-table match against Cracovia which Lech won 2:0, maintaining an advantage over their rivals. Therefore, it was no surprise that Lech was deemed the favourite of the Saturday clash with the squad from Radom which won just one away game this season and was still waiting to score their first goal at Bułgarska Street.
It didn’t take long for the hosts to emphasise their dominance. Like in most of this season’s matches, Niels Frederiksen’s players controlled the game and stayed in possession of the ball. In the 17th minute, Lech found the back of the net for the first time that evening – Joel Pereira’s shot from outside the box was impossible for Maciej Kikolski to stop. Quite unexpectedly, things took a turn towards the end of the first half as Radomiak started to cause problems for Lech’s defensive line.
Early in the second part of the match, the guests equalized thanks to a great individual effort from Zie Ouatarra. Lech bounced back fairly quickly and managed to regain control of the game, but it took them a while to change the score. Finally, in the 72nd minute, Afonso Sousa dribbled past a few players and set Mikael Ishak with a great pass that the Swede effortlessly converted into a goal. Niels Frederiksen’s squad held onto the score until the final whistle and added three more points to their league account.
